Museum Directors Elated With Retention and Exposure for Exhibit
Goal The Missouri History Museum, founded in 1866, is one of the many attractions located in St. Louis’ historic Forest Park. The directors at the Missouri History Museum wanted to update their guest retention methods and provide a new, engaging attraction within the museum. The ideal way to accomplish this goal was by designing an exhibit around GoodEye PhotoShare’s Off The Wall Green Screen technology. |

Implementation
GoodEye PhotoShare created a collection of backgrounds utilizing images from the Missouri History Museum’s own archives allowing guests to be placed in different time periods and locations in St. Louis history. The history museum painted a wall Chroma key green to facilitate the photo-taking and give the installation a finished look.
Simple signage created in conjunction with the Missouri History Museum bills the installation as the St. Louis Time Machine. To keep the exhibit fresh for guests, the backgrounds are switched out on a monthly basis.
Each guest is able to take their photo or have a friend take one in front of the Chroma key green wall. They then are able to choose which background they desire by emailing the photo to a corresponding email address on the signage. Within minutes, the guest receives their photo along with information about the picture and links to the Missouri History Museum’s online presence as well as links to upcoming events.

Results
The St. Louis Time Machine collected over 400 unique email addresses for the Missouri History Museum within two weeks and continues to collect, on average, 25 unique email addresses per day. The St. Louis Time Machine has significantly exceeded the expectations of the museum directors and serves as an exhibit in its own right attracting new guests to the museum every day.

Annual Event Seeks A Refreshing Exhibit Component
Off The Wall Wows At 20th Anniversary Model Train Festival

Goal
The Washington State History Museum hosts the annual Model Train Festival that draws guests from all over and delights many families around the holidays.
In 2015, the Model Train Festival was celebrating its 20th year and the Washington State History Museum was looking for a new component to add to the otherwise traditional event. Having made contact with GoodEye PhotoShare representatives at the American Association for State and Local History annual meeting in Louisville, KY in September previously, a representative from the Washington State History Museum reached out to us.
Implementation
GoodEye PhotoShare was first contacted about the event on December 18, 2015, just 4 days before the event was to commence. The Washington State History Museum supplied us with two subject appropriate photos of historical trains from years past and one photo of the infamous original Tacoma Narrows Bridge, which collapsed into the Puget Sound just 4 months after opening.
The Washington State History Museum was able to place a backdrop with the signage instructing visitors on the use of Off The Wall Green Screen within the entrance of an unused exhibit hall. This created a room adjacent to the Model Train Festival that was dedicated solely to the use of our Off The Wall service.
The content of the email included historical facts about the scenes, a schedule of upcoming events, and a direct link to information how to contribute directly to the museum.

Over the course of a week and a half, the Off The Wall Green Screen installation collected over 180 email addresses from guests for use by the Washington State History museum’s future marketing campaigns. The Off The Wall installation is portable, and as such, is currently being repurposed for future events throughout the year at the museum.
